Last week I was invited to a Stella & Dot jewelry trunk show at a jpeg002 girlfriend’s house.  I was looking forward to having some wine, some food, and chatting with the girls.  At this point, the jewelry part of the evening was somewhere in the back of my mind.  I was there to socialize, at least that was the plan, until I walked into my friend’s dining room and actually saw the jewelry!

They had everything from sweet silver necklaces with delicate charms to chunky pieces dangling with trendy baubles.  From bracelets to earrings to necklaces, there was something for everyone’s taste and budget.  They even have a kids line that any little girl would adore!

The night was low-key and low-pressure.  There was no formal presentation, the pieces were simply on display and we were encouraged to try on as many as we wanted!  Robin S, our Stella & Dot rep, was on-hand to answer questions and make suggestions, but pretty much let us play dress up to our hearts content.

Love what you see?  Well, we have a $40 Stella & Dot Gift Certificate to give away to one lucky South Shore Mamas reader!  See contest rules below and enter by Wednesday, August 4th for your chance to win!

Another must on our list of family activities this summer was blueberry picking.  Yesterday morning we headed down to C.N. Smith Farm in East  Bridgewater, where berries were just bursting off of the bushes!

At C.N. Smith, you pick with their containers, and there is a 3 pound minimum.  The blueberry fields are set at the back of the farm, so you’ll need to drive up to them after picking up your container(s) at the front office.   {keep reading…}

Mosquito Control

July 27, 2010

It’antimosquitos so nice to stretch bedtime out in the summertime, less schedule, less rules, more fun!  It’s hard to stay out past sundown, however, without getting swarmed by mosquitoes.  As much as I coat myself in OFF and Skintastic, I get bitten.  A lot.  I take all the help I can get, and often use the Norfolk County Mosquito Spraying Services.  It’s easy, it’s free, and it really helps!

Find out how to schedule mosquito spraying for your street at the CMMCP website.   Each town has a designated spraying day, {keep reading…}

If you’re looking to buy the kids an extra bathing suit or pair of shorts right now, you might be out of luck at the stores now that back to school has been ushered in by the retail giants.  You can get some real deals, however, by scanning the local consignment shops.

Kids Echo, located in East Freetown, is currently holding their Summer Clearance Sale!  They still have a great selection of summer clothing and related accessories (sandals, bathing suits, sundresses, shorts, hats, etc.), stop by and take a look! {keep reading…}
