January 2011

Old photos.  We all have them, most likely a lot of them.  Whether they’re in boxes or bags or piles, whether they are a few years old or a few decades old, they’re sitting around waiting to be dealt with.  Today, Shannon from Love Your Space Professional Organizing shares some tips on how to organize those boxes (and boxes, and boxes…) of pictures you have stored away:

Start by purchasing a PORTABLE file box. This gem from Staples ($8) has a snap top lid with a handle AND a small storage section on top for keeping your supplies handy. It is important that it snap shut to keep your items safe and has a handle so it can move around rooms with you or to someone’s house to work on. Many of these boxes may be needed based on the volume of pictures you have. It could end up being that each box is a decade or a person’s life story. Note: These are not for long term storing but for sorting. Photos and negatives should be stored in an album or scanned into a digital medium.

Kim Spires of Inspire Kids Yoga started practicing yoga in 2006 after her second child was born.  Yoga gave her the workout she needed as well as the peace she craved.  Her physique changed, she felt stronger, happier and more confident in herself.  She was hooked!

Kim started involving her children by showing them a few poses before bed at night for fun.  She then found them their own “real” children’s yoga class, which was a big hit.  Kim soon became certified with the intention of using the teaching tools with her own children, but received so many requests from people asking her to teach their children, that she now teaches several classes a week.

Kim teaches various classes for children ages 2-17 both privately and publicly.  The main focus of the yoga program at Inspire Kids is fun!  {keep reading…}

gingerbettys setupAt Ginger Betty’s Bakery in Quincy you’ll find a tasty selection of ginger bread men, ginger bread houses, frosted cookies and more.  It’s a great little place to stop for a quick treat and coffee in between errands and other morning activities.
