gingerbettysLast winter, after ice-skating lessons for my sons at the Quincy Youth Arena, I joined my neighbors at a little place called GINGER BETTY’S BAKERY for a treat.  I loved this place from the minute we walked in.  The aroma of fresh baked cookies was amazing, and all of the cookies and ginger bread houses on display were nothing short of gorgeous!  It took a while for the boys to pick a cookie out of the huge display case, but they finally decided on little ginger bread men and settled into the cozy seating area with their sweets.  I sipped my coffee, chatted with the other Moms, and enjoyed the quiet for ten minutes before the kids were up and at ‘em again exploring the shop.  Hey, that ten minutes was totally worth it!  Now whenever I want to give the kids (and myself) a little treat, we head to Ginger Betty’s!

Every Wednesday at 10:30am Ginger Betty’s has a story hour.  They are also available for birthday parties where kids can create their own cookie masterpieces, then eat them!  See their website here for more information.
