Decorate your home in style with these fun kids Easter craft projects. We tackled the Stained Glass Easter Eggs in our house this week, they were easy and the kids had a great time making them!

image_thumb1Stained Glass Easter Egg
Glue colored sheets of tissue paper to a piece of waxed paper with watered down white glue. Place another layer of glue over tissue and place another sheet of waxed paper on top. Smooth out. Sandwich the waxed papers between egg shaped frames. Trim excess waxed paper after the project has dried.

Toilet Paper Tube Characters
Cover toilet paper tubes with construction paper and then decorate to look like your favorite Easter friend. Fill with candy and enjoy.

image_thumb10Chick Easter Card
Trace child’s hands onto yellow construction paper and cut out for the wings. Cut out an oval for the body. Use fasteners (brads) to attach the wings to the body. Cut out a beak and legs using orange paper. (See link for patterns). Glue on beak, legs and wiggle eyes.

Bunny Ears
Cut a strip of poster board about 2″ wide by about 24″ long. Cut out 2 ears out of poster board each about 8 1/2″ long x 3 1/2″ wide. Cut out 2 smaller ears out of pink construction paper. Glue the pink ears inside the white ears, glue the ears inside the band, positioning to fit behind the child’s head. Tape or staple the band to fit the child. Cut off any excess.

image_thumb12Yarn Lacing Egg Craft
Cut egg shape out of cardstock. Punch holes into the paper egg. Cut a few long pieces of yarn. Tape one end of the yard to the back of the egg so it stays in place, then lace yard through the holes.

This adorable spring vase is made from craft supplies that you may already have around the house. With a little bit of felt, ribbon and some buttons, your kids can turn an ordinary tin can into a beautiful spring vase for Easter. (click here for full instructions)

In my search for a fun dessert to serve at Easter brunch this year, I came across these super cute Spring Chick Cupcakes from Our Best Bites.  I was looking for something fun and festive, but easy to make as well.  With three little ones running around, it’s hard to execute complicated desserts and keep my sanity at the same time.  These sweet little chicks fit the bill perfectly!

colorful plastic easter eggsA few readers were asking about local Easter Egg Hunts, and frankly we were curious as well.  We Googled, and were excited to find this family-friendly egg hunt at Winslow Farm in Norton!  The craziness of the traditional, grab-what-you-can egg hunt can be a little overwhelming for the little ones, so this slowed down, relaxed version sound like a welcome change to us!  The following info is taken from the farm website:

Winslow Farm offers a relaxed, non-competitive Easter Egg Hunt where each child can walk through the beautiful Winslow Nature Trail to search for colorful treat filled eggs at their own pace. Children should bring their own baskets and are asked to collect a maximum of 7 eggs.

The Easter Egg Hunts are scheduled from 12-3pm on April 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17 and 23.  Admission is $7.00 per person. {keep reading…}
