The Discovery Museums
in Acton may not be on the South Shore, but we think they’re pretty great, and deserve a mention here on South Shore Mamas! The museums are made up of two buildings on a 4-plus acre campus. The Children’s Discovery Museum, (for toddlers through early grades), offers three floors of hands-on, child-sized, fun. Each room has a unique theme designed to inspire young children to explore and discover the world around them. At the Science Discovery Museum, visitors of all ages become scientists as they use their senses and critical thinking skills to explore science, math, and engineering concepts in an exciting hands-on environment. I’ll gladly make the trip to Acton at least once this summer to let the kids play at this unique and fun venue!

During the show, kids will go on a different adventure with each Nick Jr character: They’ll leap into Fairytale Land with Dora and Sleeping Boots, take a journey through Filthingham with The Backyardigans, hop into Wonderland with the Wonder Pets, and jump on clouds with Kai-lan and the Monkey King!
