The Cohasset-based yoga and Pilates company, Balance Studio promotes yoga with a purpose – uniting communities and helping out those in need. On Friday February 26th, Balance Studio is hosting a special fundraiser with all proceeds going to Partners In Health and CRUDEM.
The evening begins at 6:30 pm with guest speaker Dr. Paul Cotter describing his work with CRUDEM, an organization designed to support the largest private hospital in Haiti, Hospital Sacre Coeur. Dr. Cotter’s talk is followed by a 90 minute warm Vinyasa practice (108 Sun Salutations) with live music and guided by Balance Studio’s staff of revolving teachers. Afterwards, guests are invited to a catered party with chair massages, henna tattoos, and silent auction.
5 South Main, Bia Bistro, Derby Street Wine & Spirits, and Laura Atherton Catering are among local caterers and merchants providing wine and food. Mariposa and Paint the Moon Blue are providing chair massage and henna, respectively. Flowers and Festivities is providing the flowers. Silent auction event partners include some of the following: Cut River Gallery, Derby Street Wine & Spirits, DeScenza Diamonds, EK Designs, Jen Kelly Fine Art, Lululemon Athletica, Mariposa Massage and Body Therapy, Melissa Bomeisler Photography, Ports, REI, Sage Stones, SeaLore Designs (specially commissioned Haiti necklace), and Toast Restaurant. Bidding for the silent auction opens one week prior to the event (at Balance Studio).
Price is $75 for one Yogi, $100 for two, or $35 for post-yoga festivities only. Space is limited to 30 MATS, however post-yoga event is open to the public. Tickets may be purchased at Balance Studio or online at http://www.balancestudiocohasset.com/.
