Fall Fun at Sauchuk Farm Corn Maze

September 25, 2013 · 0 comments

cornmaze002This weekend we took our first trip down to the Corn Maze at Sauchuk Farm in Plympton.  The kids had a blast!

Admission is $10.95 per person.  This includes the corn maze, plus access to the farm’s other fun activities; the jumping pillow, spider web, rubber ducky races, pumpkin tether ball, corn box, cow train, and pedal cars.  The corn cannons are an extra fee ($1 for two shots).  Lunch type food is available on site (we grabbed some cider donuts for the ride home – delicious!).

The maze theme is updated each year, the 2013 corn maze commemorates the 50th anniversary of JFK’s assassination.  (A smaller, kiddie maze features Spookley the Square Pumpkin).

When you visit the admission booth (shed), you will be given a map of the maze (extremely helpful) , and game cards to play Sauchuk’s Farm Scene Investigation game.  The kids couldn’t wait to get started!

The maze game is set up Clue style.  Something has happened to the farmer, and you need to find out which animal is responsible, which weapon was used, and where the crime took place.  Hidden throughout the maze are six clue boards to help you solve the mystery.  Not always so easy to find!

After successfully navigating the maze (took about an hour including doubling back a few times to locate clues), there was lots more to do.  They bounced on the jumping pillow, and raced colorful rubber duckies…

The Cow Train was “fast, bumpy, but FUN”, they loved racing the pedal cars, and the corn pit was cute.  We also tried our hand at the corn cannons, but need a little more practice!

My crew loved their visit to Sauchuk so much, they were asking to go back the next day.  We will definitely make this a fall tradition!
